A total of 27 per cent of universities in the UK operate a food bank, according to a Higher Education Policy Institute report on their cost-of-living support for students. Across the country, the figure varies: in London, it is only 11 per cent, while in Wales, it is 63 per cent. In addition, 11 per cent of universities are offering food vouchers to some students.
